System and Password Security

System security

Keeping Simply Expenses secure is essential to everyone, so this is obviously at the heart of the system.

The system, including the login system, application, signup forms and support sections consistently use secure certificates so all data is encrypted before being sent by the server or by your browser, meaning anything you enter whilst using Simply Expenses is secret and cannot be read by others.

The servers holding or managing data are kept up-to-date and protected in a secure data centre facility. Great care has been taken to ensure security is strong, giving you peace of mind that your data is safe.

In addition to this an entire backup of all data is taken evey four hours and moved to safe storage. Once a day this data is moved off-site to provide additional peace of mind. If this isn't enough there is always the option of exporting your data yourself and keeping it on your local systems.

Password security

When the system generates a password it will use a tangle of letters and numbers to create something secure and random, albeit difficult to remember. There is always the option to change your password.

When selecting a password always remember security. A secure password needs to be:

  • At lease six characters - preferably more
  • A combination of letters and numbers
  • Not a word or phrase
  • Not a common, shared password that others may know

While Simply Expenses will do all we can to keep the system safe, reliable and secure, it is a shared responsibility among all users.
